Rides & Attractions
Intimidator 305
It is the meanest, baddest and biggest roller coaster around! Actually, it is the largest on the East Coast, to say it correctly. This is not a ride for anyone to try.
Volcano, The Blast Coaster
It is the only roller coaster in the world that gives adrenaline-junkies the chance to feel like lava. The roller coaster blasts out of a smoking volcano, at speeds of over 70 mph. Other such thrill-rides that can be found in the park include the Blacklot Stunt Coaster, with stunt cars that rush through tunnels and escape from massive explosions, the Grizzly, modeled after Coney Island's Wildcat, the Hurler, another high speed coaster, Rebel Yell, with two trains traveling on twin tracks, Ricochet, Shockwave, Berserker, Drop Tower, The Crypt, White Water Canyon, Windseeker and Xtreme SkyFlyer, all definitely not-to-be-missed, as well.
Planet Snoopy
Takes us to a more comfy, family-friendly area of the theme park, with giggles, laughter and children just having so much fun. This is, perhaps, the area that families aim to try first, when arriving. The Flying Ace, Joe's Cool Driving School, Snoopy's Moon Bounce, Snoopy's Blast Dance and The Peanuts Gang are the attractions found here that guarantee the fun and good times.
Other family-friendly attractions found within the theme park include Americana, a 24-gondolas ferris wheel that resembles London Eye (roughly said), The Avalanche, a bob slide ride for all the children to try, the Blue Ridge Tollway, with gas powered antique cars, Boo Blasters on Boo Hill, a spooky ride, but not too scary - just enough to keep the kids yelling and laughing, the Carousel, one of the world's last wooden carousels, Dinosaurs Alive!, Dodgem, a classic bumper car ride that completes the experience, as well as:
- Eiffel Tower
- Flying Eagles
- Ghoster Coaster
- Scrambler
- Thunder Raceway
- Water Works
In addition to the numerous rides, visitors can also sit back, relax and enjoy the shows. Popular such shows at the park include Absolute Country, which, despite the name, doesn't just speak to country music passionate people, but also to families that love to get together, sing, dance and have fun. (April 6th - September 3rd, Daily except Wednesday, at Planet Snoopy's Peanuts Showplace)
The All Access is also one of the park's major people drawers. This music-filled high-energy show has everything, including the 60s, 70s glam rock, and 80s power pop. (May 26th - August 12th, Daily except Thursday, Kings Dominion Theater)
Nights of Fire is when everyone gets to stay up late and just enjoy the summer - April 28th - September 2nd, Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
There is also SPIN, Snoopys Starlight Spectacular, and Charlie Brown's Pirate Adventure, which are all just as fun and spectacular.
Bottom line: Boredom is not a word that can be associated with Kings Dominion Theme Park, which can only be described in three words: Fun, fun, fun!
